c.neeon: Fashion Made in Berlin

Start Date 30 June 2006
End Date 17 Sep 2006
Venue Decorative Arts Museum (Kunstgewerbemuseum)
Location Berlin, Germany

The Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts) presents c.neeon, a young Berlin fashion label regarded as one of the city’s most promising newcomers. With their winter collection ‘way too blue’, the textile designer Clara Leskovar and the fashion designer Doreen Schulz won the big jury award at Hyères in the south of France which is counted among the most important newcomer awards in Europe. Their next collection, called ‘do you remember the first time’ and presented in London, attracted international attention.

c.neeon’s fashion is characterized by large-sized pieces printed with distinct, contrasting colours. Surface and form enter a fusion, one heightening the effect of the other. Textile design and cut are matched to form a unique synthesis; the design follows the silhouette right from the beginning. This makes for the extraordinary energy of c.neeon’s designs.

With 30 to 40 outfits as well as collages, videos, and photomontages, this exhibition offers a representative insight into the world of c.neeon.
