Christian Dior: Designer in Focus
Christian Dior’s radical ‘New Look’ is celebrated in this exhibition of stunning couture outfits made between 1947 and 1957.
The pioneering fashion designer Christian Dior was instrumental in transforming the way women dress. In fact, the designer was so influential that it is often a surprise to realise that his heyday only spanned ten years, dying in 1957 at the age of 52.
This exhibition feature highlights from the late 1940s collections including a black ribbed cocktail dress commissioned by one of his most fervent admirers, the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson.
