Dialogue in a Slow Fashion Key
We buy more and more clothing and use it less and less. These garments, commonly known as “fast fashion” or “ultra fast fashion”, are produced in countries with much more lax social and environmental legislation than those in Europe.
This idea constitutes the starting point of the temporary exhibition Dialogue in the key of Slow Fashion organized on the occasion of the Sustainable Fashion days that take place in the Museum of Costume on April 5 and 6, 2019.
The exhibition presents the proposals and solutions that many companies dedicated to the fashion industry are developing in response to the great challenges posed by the rapid purchase system. A widely used procedure that, unfortunately, each view brings less value to the product. Added to this are the terrible environmental effects, especially in the use of resources such as water or the generation of toxic waste, which contribute to the climate change produced by these industrial clothing techniques.
The new companies of the 21st century are those that make these challenges their own and integrate into their business models proposals that provide social, environmental and economic values for all, and especially for future generations.
In this exhibition you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand what these challenges are through open dialogue with the public.
We will wait for you!
