DONALD A. STUART: 50 Years of Excellence

The AGN presents major retrospective of the work by Donald Stuart. This two-part exhibition will include a collection of 40 necklaces entitled HOMAGE- Inspired by Outstanding Canadian Women. Recipient of the Orders of Canada and Ontario, Donald Stuart, RCA is one of Canada’s most esteemed goldsmiths. In a career that has stretched over 50 years this exhibition exemplifies his career as a leader in the world of fine craft. HOMAGE features necklaces honouring notable Canadian women such as: Margaret Atwood, Laura Secord, Emily Carr, and Anne Murray. Also, included in the collection is a necklace inspired by Governor General Designate and astronaut Julie Payette, with its gold, sterling silver, diamond moonstone and various inlays inspired by a galactic scene. This exhibition, 50 years of Excellence opens on Saturday, 9 September, 2017 with a reception from 2 to 4 pm, and continues until Sunday 29 October 2017.
