Exhibition brings together various artistic fields through an assemblage of historical, pictoral, ethnic, cinematic, and geographical references. While stressing the influences, analogies, and contradictions in Dries Van Noten’s work, the exhibition combines fashion design with the world of decorative and fine arts in order to illustrate the Belgian designer’s distinctive techniques and stylistic vocabulary.
It features artistic works by visual artists including Yves Klein, Thierry De Cordier, Victor Vasarely, Damien Hirst, Cecily Brown, Pol Bury, Christopher Wool, Hubert Duprat, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, and James Tissot.
“Dries Van Noten: Inspirations” was initiated and realised by Les Arts Décoratifs, Paris (01/03-02/11/14) and organised in Antwerp by MoMu – Fashion Museum Province of Antwerp.
