Louis Vuitton: Volez, Voguez, Voyagez (Touring)

Louis Vuitton presents “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton” at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul from 8 June through 27 August 2017. Under the direction of Olivier Saillard, responsible for curating the event, the exhibition retraces the adventure of the Maison Louis Vuitton, from 1854 to the present, through the portraits of its founders, as well as of those who, today, are inventing the Louis Vuitton of tomorrow.

This themed tour, divided into ten chapters – one of which is entirely devoted to South Korea – was designed by Robert Carsen and opens with the most symbolic object for the House: an old trunk, a model fashioned with contemporary flair, presciently embodying the iconic hallmarks and bold spirit of Louis Vuitton. The exhibition features objects and documents from the Louis Vuitton heritage archives, as well as selected articles on loan from the Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris and the Philharmonie de Paris.

The exhibition closes with a display devoted to the savoir-faire of the crafts persons in the Louis Vuitton workshops.
