No place for mannequins: Remaking the fashion archive
No place for mannequins: Remaking the fashion archive is a group exhibition exploring the shifting form and status of the contemporary fashion archive.
Artists: Alix Higgins, D and K, Femke de Vries, Hansol Kim, Justine Woods, Kyra Mancktelow, Library of Unruly Fashion Practices with XEROXED, Marco Marino, Tim Hardy, and Todd Robinson.
In fashion, the archive has long operated as a site of authority, shaping narratives of dress, design, and consumption. No place for mannequins brings together local and international artists and designers who unsettle the fashion archive’s authority and reimagine its foundations. Curated by Dr Todd Robinson (UTS) and Dr Ricarda Bigolin (RMIT), the exhibition foregrounds critical fashion practices that are reshaping what counts within and beyond the fashion archive.
