Discover the synergies between fashion and architecture from the 1980s to the present day.

 The exhibition explored how over 50 internationally-renowned architects and designers including Alexander McQueenVivienne WestwoodComme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Future Systems, Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid ‘fashion’ buildings and ‘construct’ garments.

After huge success in Los Angeles and Tokyo, Somerset House brought this exhibition to Europe to open the Embankment Galleries. Specially selected new exhibits for London included work by BoudiccaEley Kishimoto, Martin Margiela and Hussein Chalayan.

The exhibition was designed for Somerset House by architect Eva Jiricna and featured over 200 works including iconic garments, 3D architectural models and film footage.

Skin+Bones: Parallel Practices in Fashion and Architecture was organised by The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
