Milliner to the stars Stephen Jones OBE has filled the Royal Pavilion with his fabulous hats.

Ten things you may not know about the exhibition
- There are more than 160 hats on display
- Jones’s 2012 collection ‘Chinoiserie-on-Sea’ was inspired by Brighton, and in particular the Royal Pavilion
- A ‘dinner’ set up in the banqueting room features more than 20 hats made for famous faces, including Lada Gaga and Joan Collins
- Stephen Jones created the cream felt beret worn by the Duchess of Sussex
- On a bust of King George IV Jones has designed a new felt hat based on one worn by the King in a portrait from 1782
- Jones grew up in the Wirral peninsula and many hats reference the sea, sky and marine life
- Music was an early inspiration – some of Jones’ first customers were singers such as Boy George and Steve Strange
- The ‘Murder by Millinery’ collection was inspired by the board game Cluedo
- Jones has worked with some of the most famous fashion designers in the world, including Marc Jacobs, John Galliano and Christian Dior
- Stephen Jones OBE has been creating show-stopping hats for 40 years
The exhibition is presented in partnership with Harvey Nichols and runs until 9 June. It was co-curated by Stephen Jones OBE and Martin Pel, Curator of Costume and Textiles at the Royal Pavilion and Museums.
