THE ART OF FASHION – CREATIVE STORIES

from 22.01.21 to 25.07.21

Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 8pm

19th and 20th floor

We present the relations between art, fashion, development of the work of creating studios in Brazil and in the world in the form of an exhibition. The art of fashion – creative stories underscores the profound influence of the aesthetic revolution that began in Paris on artists, cultural personalities and tailors from the 1910s onwards. In addition, it is intended to show the enormous impact on the formation of modern and contemporary Brazilian fashion and art and its historical and chronological evolution.

The connections between fashion and the arts of Paris with Brazil since the beginning of the 20th century have innovated and boosted the creation of fashion until today, generating work, moving the economy and also provoking the desired recognition of the Brazilian product abroad. From the 1950s until the 1970s, designers and exponents of Brazilian haute couture began authoring production and gained national prominence, assuming a more Brazilian style over the years.

The two floors arranged for the exhibition intend to awaken in the visitor the awareness of making fashion-art, to trigger their archetypal feelings of dressing and to stimulate the valorization of creative work, through their participation in the most elaborate processes of creating fashion within the ateliers contemporary, traditional and high-tech fashion shows from Brazil and the world. Giselle Padoin, curator.
