The Power of the Image. Agatha Ruiz de la Prada
This sample, integrated in the Madrid Design Festival celebrates a well-deserved official recognition of the career of the designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada (Madrid, 1960) and highlights the plastic force of her work and her great ability to surprise visitors.
Through a score of suits and more than 30 objects, we get closer to the overflowing and colorful visual universe that the designer has developed throughout her fertile professional career. In this way, she has established herself as one of the great strategists of Spanish fashion, able to establish a firm starting point between the most personal and free conception of creation, to later reinterpret herself in a more accessible key and reach a wide and heterogeneous public.
At the same time, the graphic potential of its prints and the personality of its forms have allowed it, since 1991, to grant multiple brand licenses, from which a wide range of products was born, characterized by its unmistakable aesthetics.
Not surprisingly, his crucial contribution to the image of Spanish fashion has recently been recognized with the National Awards for Fashion Design and the Fashion Industry, awarded in 2017 and 2018 respectively, which add to the Gold Medal for Fine Arts Merit awarded in 2008.
The small sample of products collected in this exhibition gives an idea of the effectiveness of its aesthetics, with which fashion has transcended to offer its public a whole lifestyle.
