The most extensive retrospective devoted to Yves Saint Laurent presented his full career from 1958 to 2002 across more than three hundred haute couture garments and numerous archival documents.

Two years after his death, a major retrospective devoted to Yves Saint Laurent, one of the greatest couturiers of the second half of the twentieth century, was held in Paris. It featured over three hundred designs.

I hope this retrospective will allow as many people as possible to discover or better understand Yves Saint Laurent’s work and, in doing so, allow them to enter the world of fashion, one the greatest creations of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Nearly 300,000 visitors immersed themselves in Saint Laurent’s work, a period of over forty years extending from his time at Christian Dior to his final collection in 2002.
